Professional Background
Katie has worked as a Speech and Language Therapist for the past 19 years. She has fulfilled a range of roles within the NHS and medical charity sector, including leading a team of speech therapists for a number of years at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability before deciding to focus full time on her independent practice in 2021.
Katie has a special interest in dysphagia management and has worked with adults and school-aged children to help improve their ability to eat, drink and swallow effectively. She developed a bespoke programme to support individuals who have a fear of swallowing (phagophobia). More recently Katie trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy to complement and further enhance her skills and ability to improve the quality of life of her patients.
